FC Bokelj Stadium

FC Bokelj are one of Montenegro's leading football teams, based in the beautiful bay of Kotor. Their existing stadium is in poor condition and in early 2023 the municipality ran a design competition for a new 3,000 seat stadium. From 60 international entries we were awarded 3rd place.

Our proposal used the slope of the site to create a split level main stand, with changing rooms on the lower level and hospitality areas on the upper level. The concrete structure is expressed throughout, with glulam timber beams and a CLT deck forming the stadium roof. The geometry of the roof has a gentle wave in elevation, creating a dynamic built form that responds to the dramatic landscape of the valley and surrounding mountains.
