HS2 Euston Station
In collaboration with Weston Williamson and Mott Macdonald, the studio was commissioned by HS2 to develop the facade design for a new substation and ventshaft for the London Underground. Replacing an existing facility for the Northern Line, the substation will be one of the first pieces of infrastructure to be built by HS2 at Euston and permits the construction of the new station concourse.
The building is roughly a 20m cube and is clad in glazed faience tiles. Where necessary the tiles are tilted, permitting ventilation of the plant rooms within.
