PROFILE

William Matthews Associates is an award winning architecture practice based with studios in London and Paris.

Since 2013 the studio has worked in the UK and internationally on a range of cultural, commercial and infrastructure commissions, completing critically acclaimed projects such as the Tintagel Castle Footbridge which was shortlisted for the 2021 RIBA Stirling Prize, and won the inaugural Royal Fine Art Commission Building Beauty Award 2022.

We work with committed public and private clients including English Heritage, Canary Wharf, the London Legacy Development Corporation, NetworkRail and HS2. We also enjoy collaborating with other architects, designers and artists. The practice has earned international recognition, winning multiple architectural competitions in Europe, the Middle East and North America. Our work has been widely published in the UK and internationally.

Current projects include the new HQ in Prague for Správa železnic, the Czech national rail operator; a major regeneration scheme for Borovets, Bulgaria’s largest ski resort; a new bridge in Stratford in east London and a prominent building for HS2 at Euston Station.
